A little snippet ...

Watercolour by moi

Cascading green foliage ...
London is so green at the moment, maybe it's because we've had a bit of rain recently ... or maybe because it's always green!
That's what I love about London, even if you live in a very built up urban area, you will be guaranteed to find a bit of green just around the corner ... whether it be the large local common or heath or a small privately owned gated communal garden.

Above is a watercolour painting I did recently, showing a little snippet of our house in London.
It's the teenagers TV room leading out to the garden, with the balcony from the master bedroom on top.
We are lucky to live in a private cul-de-sac with the house backing onto a golf course. We cant actually see it, as there is a very green, wooded area in front. However, every time I look out from a window or french door ... it is so green!

I'm still persevering with watercolour painting ... I won't let it defeat me!

Wishing you all a happy weekend.

xx

p.s If you are in London,
I was there yesterday and it was magnificent!
It runs until 21 August 2011.

Interior Inspiration ... terracotta + pink

How wonderful is the graphic shadow play from the concrete beams of this partially covered outdoor space?

I'm loving this Andalusian home designed by Mexican born architect
Francisco Cortina

... the beautiful colour saturated walls
(a significant departure from the white walls and tiled roofs, associated with this part of southern Spain),

... the clean lines and
... the way light plays with the building.

I can only imagine how vibrantly beautiful the colours are when the sun goes down!

On the wild side ...

via Desire to Inspire

Going through my inspirational interiors folder today, looking for something old ... but refreshingly new, I kept going back to these rooms.
I love everything about them ...

The cooling effects of turquoise ...

Turquoise ... the perfect colour choice for summer (or any time really)
Turquoise has cooling effects figuratively lowering a rooms temperature
Turquoise has good karma ... some cultures have long praised the minerals spiritual and healing properties.

This colour always puts me in a good mood
(and I need it at the moment)
I hope you're all having a wonderful Thursday.
I'm battling a summer cold, with so much to do!

Loving ...

I am in love with this staircase and the wonderful fresh look of this room.
The horizontal lines of the plantation shutters, mixed with the vertical lines of the stair rails is well balanced with the basket weave floor covering.

The home belongs to landscape architect Rick Eckersley, seen via Blue Fruit.

Inspirational Friday ...

{image: Once Wed}

Another week has flown by ... we are already in July!

This weekend I'm looking forward to welcoming my middle daughter back from a week away in Wales, catching up with some dear friends of ours from the USA, our annual street party on Sunday ... and a little bit of watercolour painting, which I have taken up and it's doing my head in! It is so unforgiving, compared to oil and acrylic painting (which I am used to).

Plus, the sun is shining!
Hope your plans are wonderful too!
